Margaret's Tlingit name is Watsi, meaning little doll and is of Dalawedi clan / killer whale. MARGARET grew up and lives in Teslin, Yukon, has a son and one grandson. Her mother and grandmother taught her how to bead and tan moose hide since 11 years old. Now Margaret teaches all traditional moosehide scraping and tanning all overt the North, from Atlin B C. to Kugluktug, Nunavut as well as in public schools in Whitehorse and Kwanlin Dun Culture Center and Teslin Tlingit Heritage Center. For six years Margaret is an elder teacher at Teslin Elementary school. Her main passion continues to be preparing, tanning, beading and sewing Moose hide.
