Daniel Tlen

Daniel is Kluane First Nations. In the 1970's he was instrumental in mobilizing the younger / his generation, encouraging youth to rise above ongoing traumatic events and focus on future goals. As a representative for the Council for Yukon Indians during this time, he traveled to Ottawa to advocate for the needs and intentions of Yukon First Nations. Today he is a Native Language linguistics teacher at Yukon College and public schools. Daniel is also a storyteller. In the summer he tells stories for visitors of Kluane National Park. His passion is playing guitar and singing. In 1988 he sang O Canada at the Winter Olympics in Calgary.
